Making my way around deviantART finally brought me to this little heated event.
First of all, I'd like to state that I am absolutely aware that this is none of my business. However, due to the fact that I can't keep my nose out of the business of others, I'd like to put in my two-cents.
Sava: First of all, what you did was wrong. It is beyond all other crimes of the art world. What you did was attempt to steal the identity of another and, worst of all, deny it. There is no point in trying to deny things that have been proven without a doubt because it just makes you look worse. You really ought to be ashamed of yourself.
From what I can see, you need help. Really, I don't know how old you are, so I can't tell whether this could possibly be a part of growing up where a person idolizes another in an attempt to find an identity for one's self, but this has gone far beyond that. This has become an obsession that needs to stop immediately.
Jenna: From reading around and prying my nose into places it shouldn't be, I can see how horrifying this must've been for you. If I were to be placed in your shoes, I would have taken the same course of action.
However, this is not to say that all methods used are always best.
In this situation, you handled yourself very well, addressing the situation and getting people to spread the word.
But, I'm trying to offer advice for future references and in other conflicts [not the best time to do so, I'm sure, but after this I will butt out]
You seem to be a very popular artist on the internet, one with a very large fan base. You really have to be careful in how you address situations because of how your fans may react. This isn't all very easy, I'm sure, especially when such delicate situations are at hand.
From all the conflicts I've managed to dig up, your supporters seem to be rather agressive. The slightest hint of annoyance on your part could ripple into something larger, and I have seen them erupt into unnecessary harassment [not by yourself, but from fans].
I am not saying that you're doing the wrong thing here, because it's clear to see you aren't. However, I'm just noting this for future reference.
To all of Jenna's supporters: I'd suggest that you mind what you say in a situation like this. Pressuring someone with an obvious mental illness is NOT the best course of action. You don't know how much this girl knows about Jenna, and pressuring her could endanger the girl or even Jenna.
I can understand how angry you all must be, whether you were lied to, are a close friend of Jenna, or are just angered by the fact that something like this could happen, but please remember to think of what results your actions could have.
Look at this whole situation on deviantART. Threats and physical harm being inflicted on people. I'm all for standing up for people, but be careful about how you do it.
I don't understand why people won't let jenna, someone who's prefectly capable of defending herself and able to deal with this on her own NEEDS all these people to back her up and shit, esp. people who barely know her. As I can stand up for myself and deal with this. This is between me and Jenna, want proof? Go ask her what I said about giving up in the email I sent her last night and what my phone number is. I really did send her that and I KNOW what the truth is, but since nodody even wants to try to see it, I give up. And, as for apologizing and trying to make things better via conversation or otherwise: You Did Not. You simply made a number of false stories that further modified/changed your original, flawed defense. You said "I'm Sorry", "I'm Sorry", "I'm Sorry"-- but for something that you did not admit to doing. You were saying sorry for the trouble that you allegedly did not cause, which makes, frankly, very little actual sense.
And I do not feel that this is finished-- I cannot trust you, and therefore, this will be finished when the legalities go through.
